Knightscope Inc., a developer of autonomous security robots and blue light emergency communication systems, today announces an expansion contract for 3 K1 Blue Light Towers with a public transportation provider located in Texas, bringing the total number of Towers purchased to 13. In addition, contracts for the Knightscope Emergency Management System (“KEMS”), a full-service maintenance program and a 2-year voice and data plan were signed to cover all 13 devices.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) intercepted 3,251 firearms at airport security checkpoints during the first half of 2023, which ended June 30. The total represents an average 18 firearms per day at TSA checkpoints of which more than 92% were loaded.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers in Washington detected 164 firearms in travelers’ carry-on luggage in 2022, with the majority of the firearms discovered at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport’s (SEA) security checkpoints.

The Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas has issued a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin regarding the continued heightened threat environment across the United States. This is the sixth NTAS Bulletin issued by DHS since January 2021. It replaces the current Bulletin that was set to expire June 16.
