Attempted Abduction of 7-Year-Old Girl Caught by Cameras in Georgia Wal-Mart

In what can only be described as chilling, video cameras in a Georgia Wal-Mart captured the attempted abduction of a 7-year-old girl from a toy aisle earlier this week.

But thanks to the child, who fought back, and surveillance footage, the incident has a happy ending as Britney Baxter is safe and sound while the 25-year-old suspect is in custody.

Britney was playing at the Bremen, Ga. store while her mother was nearby when the suspect, Thomas Andrew Woods, approached her. He started to talk with her, but then grabbed her and put his hand around her mouth.

While Woods was attempting to exit the store with Britney, she began to fight back, kicking and screaming. The ruckus was enough for Woods to ditch the attempt, putting Britney down and running out of the store.

He didn't get very far. Armed with descriptions of his vehicle, police captured him a few hours later in a nearby town.

Woods has been charge with attempting kidnapping while other charges probable. He's thankfully being held without bond at the Haralson County Jail.

Unsurprisingly, Woods, who has served time for voluntary manslaughter, is claiming he was never in the store. But police say they are confident they've got their man.
